Gwangju FC

Gwangju FC is a professional football club based in Gwangju, South Korea. Founded in 2010, the club plays its home matches at the Gwangju World Cup Stadium, which has a capacity of 40,245 and was originally constructed for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Gwangju FC has earned a reputation as a club that consistently punches above its weight, operating on one of the smaller budgets in K League 1. The club won the K League 2 title in 2019 to earn promotion and has since stabilized in the top flight under coach Lee Jung-hyo, who is known for an attacking and high-pressing tactical approach.
