Gimcheon Sangmu

Gimcheon Sangmu FC is a professional football club based in Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. The club operates as the military team of the South Korean Armed Forces, meaning players fulfill their mandatory military service while continuing their professional football careers. Founded in 1984, Sangmu has undergone several relocations and rebrandings before settling in Gimcheon in 2021. The club plays its home matches at the Gimcheon Stadium, which holds 25,000 spectators. Gimcheon Sangmu won the K League 2 title in 2024 to earn promotion to K League 1 for the 2025 season. The squad is unique in that it constantly rotates as players complete their service and return to their parent clubs, creating a transient but often highly talented roster.
