Getafe CF, founded in 1946 and refounded in 1983, is a professional football club based in Getafe, a city in the southern metropolitan area of Madrid. Getafe rose to prominence in Spanish football during the mid-2000s under coach Bernd Schuster, reaching the Copa del Rey final in 2007 and the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals in the 2007-08 season.
