Founded in 2003, the club competes in the A-League Men and plays its home matches at Coopers Stadium, which has a capacity of 16,500 and is renowned for its intimate and electric atmosphere. Adelaide United won the A-League Championship in the 2015-16 season, defeating Western Sydney Wanderers 3-1 in the Grand Final, and has claimed the A-League Premiership on one occasion.
